Winter activities
Snowshoe
Explore the bush around the ranch! We have traditional snowshoes for cabin guests to use free of charge.
Pond skating rink
Bring your skates or just shoot some pucks around on our pond rink. We’ve got the nets, sticks and pucks covered.
Winter hiking
The lovely 2km Falcon Creek Trail starts right at the ranch main gate, and many others are within a 15 minute drive. Keep your eyes open for animal tracks!
cross-country ski
The Great Trail - groomed for classic skiing - starts at the North Shore or South Shore trailheads. The South Whiteshell Trail Association has maps. Wander over to Falcon Ridge for well-groomed classic or skate loops.
Downhill ski, snowboard, or snow tube
Falcon Lake is home to a gem of a ski hill hidden down at the far end of lake. Our friends over at Falcon Ridge Ski Slopes offer fun winter activities for the entire family: downhill skiing and snowboarding with a sweet terrain park, an exhilarating tubing run, and myriad cross-country ski trails.
Ice fish
Strike out on your own or contact Shield Outfitters to guide you
Snowmobile
Prefer to ride the trails on something motorized? Our cabins have easy access to the Whiteshell Provincial Park’s network of snowmobile trails. Ask us for current trail conditions or visit the Whiteshell Snowmobile Club’s website for details.
