Horseback Rides

We offer a range of trail riding options, with horses and trails suitable for all ages and abilities. Horses are assigned to each rider based on size and temperament, and all rides begin with a review of basic horsemanship. We trail ride year-round! Advance reservations are recommended. Be sure to take a minute to read our Riding & Booking Policy and find out our Trail Ride Rates.

One-Hour Ride

This is our most popular ride, perfect for riders of all ages and abilities. Experienced guides match you with one of our well-trained horses and review basic horsemanship with each rider before leaving the Ranch. Once on the trail, relax and enjoy your horse and the beautiful boreal forest of the Whiteshell Provincial Park. All rides are grouped according to riding ability.

Pony Rides

Lead your child around the large pond at the ranch on quiet, friendly ponies. This is a great way to introduce your child to horses, enjoy precious time together, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Forty-Minute Ride

This slightly shorter ride is ideal for families with young children looking for that first safe and enjoyable horseback experience. The ride follows our well-maintained trails through a beautiful forest setting.

UFO Ride

This is a unique experience for any rider, and especially for those with an interest in the unexplained. This ride takes you to the actual site of the world famous “Falcon Lake Encounter,” one of North America’s most well documented UFO sightings. This ride takes about 1.5 hours and includes a chance to get off your horse and explore the site on foot while your guide tells you the story of that fateful day in May 1967…

Private Rides

Hit the trails and explore, just you and an experienced guide. Private rides are recommended for advanced riders or small groups looking for a personalized experience. Your guide will tailor the ride to suit your abilities and interests and take you on some of our “trails less travelled”. Private rides are available in one, 1.5 and two-hour durations, or longer upon request.

Overnight Ride

Pack up and head out on an overnight adventure with just your horse and your knowledgeable guides. Experience the thrill of a deep-water crossing, wilderness trails and scenic lookouts as you ride for three hours through the backcountry from Falcon Lake to Star Lake. You will gain new respect for the stamina, surefootedness, and personality of your mount. Set up your tent by the lakeshore, then swim, fish or just relax by the fireside. Enjoy a full steak dinner cooked over the open fire, then trade stories and songs around a roaring campfire. Our guests are welcome to assist the guides in the feeding and care of their horse to any extent they wish. The next morning, wake up to campfire coffee and a cowboy breakfast before saddling up for the ride back to the Ranch.
